At work I am a software developer been coding for for over 13 years now. Creating non-tangible projects all day is wearing. Software by nature is transient it typically does not last more than a year. Woodworking to me, is a hobby the gives me an outlet for creating things that people can touch and keep in their homes and hearts for generations.

I love building things without power tools the sweat and lack of guides provided by simple tools can be freeing. This bench was built entirely with handplanes, hand saws, bit and brace, and chisels.

Building furniture is a way to get in touch with friends and family. It always feels good when your family is sitting around a piece of furniture that you built.
